Application scenarios

1. Large residential rooftops with 25–40 kW of modules, where a single PLC controller can drive 100+ panel-level RSD units along one 2-wire DC homerun.  

2. Commercial flat roofs requiring long wire runs up to 150 m; PLC signaling rides the existing DC conductors, eliminating extra 24 V power-line losses and voltage-drop re-calculations.  

3. Agricultural greenhouses with 30 kW+ arrays feeding into central inverters—farmers maintain one lockable PLC transmitter at ground level for rapid shutdown during fumigation or fire events.  

4. Ground-mounted solar carports in school or hospital lots; the dual-magnet-ring PLC unit lets installers connect two separate strings to one controller, cutting hardware count while still meeting NEC 690.12.  

5. Retrofit projects adding battery-ready inverters: the same PLC channel can later control module-level optimizers or Li-ion DC-coupled disconnects, giving owners an upgrade path without rewiring.
